My New Best Friend - Nursery Rhyme

I found a little caterpillar
it was climbing up my wall
He’s become my special friend
and I have named him Paul

He clung up on the ceiling
now what do you think of this
Paul changed before my very eyes
into a dark brown chrysalis

Paul lived in my bedroom for a week
then he emerged from his hard shell
I shouted loudly for my mom
you should have heard me yell

We sat on the bed to watch him
it took time for his wings to dry
Now Paul’s been transformed into
a most beautiful blue butterfly
