When I’m up and about, my feelings on high,
My name means I’m happy and glad,
But when I’m down and out, my feelings on low,
My name means I’m sombre and sad.
And when I’m frustrated with irk, my mood is all vexed,
My name means a whole lot of rile,
Then, when I’m stimulated with life, my mood is engaged, and
My name means stop, laugh and smile.
My name, to me, means all sorts of things,
Depending on my emotional hue.
And folks say my name in different tones,
From thrilled to jubilant to blue.
But, most important of all, to the one that I love,
My name makes her smile, makes her glow.
My name means I’m hers, her very best friend,
My name means I’m her lover, her beau.
