My Muse and I Conspired
Reading your poem that’s clearly inspired
Brings a burst of pleasure when I am tired,
Makes me believe you, poet, were wired
Delivering to me all that could be required,
Especially when I’m feeling so uninspired
And, wishing I could be so lovingly desired
For the writing skills, I thought I’d acquired,
Upon reading you seemed permanently expired,
I thought, perhaps, never to be rehired.
Then we, that is, my muse and I, conspired,
Took out pen and paper in hand and fired
Off a proper monorhyme verse, then retired!
