My Muse and I

Hey dear muse, come out from behind that chair,
You can’t hide from me for your hair is too fair,
And I desperately need your input, creativity and flair,
For I am totally blank of late and need you to dare
Me to say things, I perhaps never would, yes don’t glare.

But like a naughty child you skip out of human sight,
Needing some space, but I need your shining light,
Somehow I know you won’t be gone for too long a while,
As I need your great imagery, guidance and fertile style,
Always been there for me, a great comfort, I have to smile!

I really need you my flirty muse, now more than ever,
I want you to ponder, perhaps show me how clever,
You are, I would like you to try with your every endeavour,
To help me, I’m well and truly stuck, please return however,
And help me to write and encourage me with whatever.

I paid little attention to my muse in the years gone by,
Silly me, and she has such bright ideas, and would never lie,
We get on well, refer and exchange thoughts and, on her behalf
I must confess she’s hysterically funny, she has such wit, I laugh,
I love my muse my eternal dreamer – in height a pint and a half!

So excuse me, won’t say too much in this write or use my imagination
For she still hasn’t returned, and I need her desperately for inspiration,
Wait, I hear the bath water running, is she back, without any hesitation,
I pick up my pen and try to write something which needs poetic creation,
She’s gone to sleep, no ideas till tomorrow, together we’ll discover elation!

Jennifer, you and your muse are such a clever team! I'm glad you have had access to your cute little pixie during the lockdown, as so many are struggling to write, either from being busy caring for others, or being sick, or just having the ominous cloud hanging over. Thank you for writing and sharing... it's been fun looking over your "10 Poems" list. God bless, my friend ~ John

Thanks Line a great muse, who is always by my side in times of need so I should understand when my muse disappears for a while. Naughty but cute. Blessings, Jennifer.

LOL... Me to say things, I perhaps never would, yes don’t glare. — yes, the muse must, right?! See my latest Midnight’s Blue Dress. What a naughty muse. Remember the muse must have time to replenish her treasury of musings! Be blessed! Hugs...Kim

OMG, I think mine has friends and parties in my basement when I am not home. It is curious, as there is no direct proof, only little signs here and there. Things out of place. Wonderful write my friend. You are a truly experienced "pen"(another name for a poet) indeed! Ann

If your muse has gone on a sabbatical, then you are doing all right without her. The rhythm of this poem is darling! I have read it twice because I am sure I missed a few things. It is the kind of poem I want to read whenever I want. I faved it.

Yup, they need a good talking to now and then! However, sometimes when they go on vacation, we have to cope, we have no option, they mustn't think they are indispensable. Glad we had similar experiences - we seem to understand each other well. Blessings and hugs, Jennifer.

Here is the solution. Just pick up that pen. Don't flatter the Muse or find her. She will get jealous when you write and quit hiding. Love, Panagiota Going to bed here in the USA..9pm.. See you tomorrow.

Glad you think so my friend - she's a lady so can't kick her but can make her fat with coke and pizza's and maybe she would also like a hot-dog! Not sure if an infomercial, commercial or musertial, but was sure stressed out with the sudden disappearance! Love ya also ^WW^ - your comments are so cute and always great fun! Jennifer.

Yes, they have quite a reputation and desert us when we need them most! Looking forward to your poems about Turkey! My mother was born in Constantinople but with the revolt in the 1920's were forced to leave, my great grandmother did not even lock the front door but left it wide open - most of our family got away , one of my mothers great uncles however was captured during their escape, and died in a concentration camp in Turkey. Thanks for a lovely comment Tom, Blessings Jennifer.
