My Muse

In the solitary cell i dwell
basked in the morning glory
gazing through the casement bright
feasting on the pulchritude

eyes behold the rugged trunk
flowers blooming like a shrug
with each branch a story to spare
abode to birds and beast alike

huge as a giant with shadow spread
finding solace in its calming shade
my muse that creates an urge to jot
to hearts content the minds plot.

This one is an instant "7" + FAV from me for three reasons: (1) It's direct, demonstrative, and quite enchanting with its message; (2) You use the word ("Pulchritude") which happens to be one of my seasoned favorites on occasion; and (3) You mentioned "Muse" which ventures into my first book of poetry which just hit the street! In fact, I wrote at poem called: "When Our Poetry Muse Beckons," in my book at page 154 (old version posted on PS last year). Spill Ink! Best Wishes, Gary
