My Mum

My Mum sat and watched me sleep
When I was in my cot,
She sat up all night and bathed my head,
When with fever I was hot.

My Mum tried to keep me safe,
Away from hurt and harm,
She'd hug me very close to her
Rock me in her arms.

My Mum gave me wisdom,
Showed me how to play,
Filled my life with happiness,
Taught me how to pray.

My Mum is proud of who I am,
Delights in what I do,
She's there when I need her most,
A shoulder when I'm blue.

My Mums love is constant,
Although I've sometimes caused her pain,
Nothing can destroy it,
It's a love you can't explain.

Happy Mothers Day to all Mother's xx

I believe that a mother/daughter bond has no match in the human equation. The love that you share between you is remarkable and so self evident in this poem. You recall all the magic that surrounded your youth and recognize that your mother was the source and inspiration for that magic. Emile. #7

Thank you Maria. When you become a mother you realise how much your own mother did and continues to do.

Perhaps not totally explainable, but you present a great portrait of it, Elizabeth. : ) well crafted, very pleasurable read.

So true dear Victor, mothers are so important and should be celebrated every day of the year. God bless all mothers, those with us and those who are in spirit.

Very astonishing a poem! A true love that has no deceit comes from a mother to her child. I enjoyed the poem, A 7.
