My Mother's Impression
I often did not understand
The meaning of Footprints in the sand
“You have big shoes to fill”
I felt that so much it made me ill
Last June when I lost my mother
The hurt was worse than any other
Her footprints remain everywhere
They are an imprint in the air
I can hear her in my head
If I choose not to make my bed
When I feel like giving up
and only see an empty cup
Her footprints appear on the floor
She guides me just like before
