My Mother, My Friend

When the night is sleeping
But sleep won’t come

It’s then that I talk to you
As my tears come undone

You once stood beside me
Always cheering me on

Can’t believe it’s been so long
Since you’ve been gone

I loved you then
Even more so now

I beg you now please
Please show me how

To go on living
Day by day

Light my path
Show me the way

It’s hard not seeing your face
See the laughter in your eyes

I ask you God
WHY.

Why was she taken
So far from earth

I love You Mom
For all it’s worth.

Someday I know
I will see you again

My Mother,
MY friend.
