My Mother, My Best Friend

My Mother, My best friend
Not a day goes by that you are not in my thoughts
Every moment is filled with things I want to share with you
Every moment filled with sadness because I cannot
In my mind’s eye I can still see your beautiful and smiling face,
I often pause and wonder if you can see me too..
My heart is calm now, knowing you're in gods sweet grace
I hope to see you once more Mom, my friend, my confidant;
Even in your absence I can still feel your love and warm embrace
I am certain we shall meet again, My memories of you are my keepsake
with which I shall never part, God has you in His care,
but, I shall forever more carry you in my heart.
