My Moment With the Lord

I heard a voice in my head
A voice as clear as day
Urging me to speak up
So I knelt down and I prayed
“Lord, I know it’s you
I’m here and I’m ready to learn
Whatever your desire
That is what I yearn”
“Look” he said unto me
I squinted as hard as I could
The room around me melted
I was sitting In the woods
He pointed to a stump
With branches growing from its surface
“It’s broken yet it lives on
Because it has a purpose”
With my face in my hands
And tears streaming down my cheek
I started to open my mouth
But I couldn’t bear to speak
“I know that you hurt now
But you will live on to do great things
Hold on to who you are
And life shall grant you wings”
“But lord:” I managed to whisper
And then he was no longer
I sat up and wiped my face
Somehow I felt stronger
I never heard that beautiful voice again
But inside I always knew
That he would come to me
If I ever needed him to
