My Mom
A boy makes me realize
all that I'm afraid to feel
because I don't want the tears
We had a rough patch
that got me stuck
and I still haven't healed
Everyone sees the strength in you
that I ignore
You stay where you don't want to be
for me
You would get up every hour
to check on me
You do everything that needs to be done
for me
We try to run away
but I know we're gonna be together
even though I want to be free
I'm still in the comfort zone
because you don't want me to grow up
You let me have what I want
because it makes me happy
but I can say this
I do love you
