My Mask

My mask is for all to see
Yet none too see.
Lost face, Lost faith.
Trouble keeping pace.

Mimicking my surroundings
I’m just trying to blend in.
My heart’s pounding.
It slipped off there's no skin.

A blank being, a blank face.
Personality clouded and lost.
Just stuck in this rat race.
Everything comes with a cost.

It was never just a dream,
It was the air I breathe.
The endless trek,
surroundings wrecked.
No paths forward.
