My Lover My Enemy
Once upon a time I loved you…
I shared my heart with you,
Which with someone else, I could never do.
I trusted you with my closed eyes;
Our relation was based on true love, with no room for lies.
You were the one I could always trust;
I thought with you, my heart would never be crushed.
Your presence, your touch, your calls meant the world to me;
Daydreaming about you was all I did, sitting under a tree.
I always thought you knew me better than I did,
I started portraying us together ever since I was a kid.
Your image in my heart was so clear with no black spot;
You always pretended to love & trust me, which to me (thinking it’s all true) meant a lot.
But you used my trust as your weapon against me,
You instantly changed from ‘My Lover’ to ‘My Enemy’.
Each move you played against me, with conspiracy & caring face,
Worked well to keep me in delusion in every case.
I thought you cared about my likes & dislikes, but I was completely wrong;
It was part of your plan, to win my heart by playing those lovable songs.
I always thought, “I am lucky to find someone, who’s totally mine,”
Until I saw your other face, which with you didn’t rhyme.
How come you didn’t care about playing with my feelings,
You just left me without a clue; otherwise, I would’ve started making a list of sad songs, which I’d
need to sing.
I guess it’s time for me to face reality,
Rather than begging you to come back to me & this city.
I ain’t selfish like you, and thus, won’t ask you to change your decision, because forcing someone to
not live according to their heart’s voice fills me with pity.
