My Lover Is a Flower

My lover is a flower that opens up to show her beauty, She shines in the morning sun, Her fragrance draws me into the embrace of her loving petals. Crimson lips hide the danger of her thorns, Only to be loved from afar. To possess her will cause her to wither and die, Enjoy flower’s beauty while she is with us, For beauty fades with the coming of the night. Long for her until the coming of the spring, And the beauty she brings.

I love roses Timothy. At first I thought this was a metaphor but turned out to be a lovely poem about roses. They certainly are tough plants. Once they take root they are almost impossible to kill.
