My Love Lost

We were so happy We had so much fun We had passion for life and each other that would last forever. I never imagined it could happen I prayed it was not true I cried to stop it I fought to keep it alive As I watch it drive away; never to hold it, never to see it, never to feel its warm embrace. My world crashes, my heart breaks, and one last tear runs down my face. I turn away and fall to my knees and thank God for this chance to know what true love really was. The tears will dry and the smiles will return Deep in my heart there will always be a spot for the love I found now lost.
