My Little Garden

Come with me to my little garden.
PUMPKIN plants I never planted,
glowing with yellow blossoms,
Are overtaking my garden plot.

My little garden measures 8 x 24.
I'm not trying to compete nor compare.
My little garden is not labor intensive,
But it provides me great mobility.

I clip pumpkin plant leaves so that I can see.
The GREEN PEPPER plants look okay,
But I'm worried about the CUCUMBERS
I planted that I have yet to see.

I was surprised by a WATERMELON
plant that came along voluntarily.it's
The SWEET PEAS are coming along,
And it seems they feel right at home.

The BEETS and HEIRLOOM TOMATO seeds
Have begun to burst through the fertal soil.
The sweet RED ONIONS are doing just fine.
We'll be eating the LETTUCE in a few days.

A garden poem is a delight to read. Without a green thumb, it’s still wonderful to watch the seeds sprout and grow.
