My Life, My Clock

It is my right to bloom at my set time
It is my right to stop, pause and breathe
It is my right to want things my way
Even if my clock keeps speeding itself away

It is my right to be me
And to close my doors
To the din that surrounds me
As the whole town gossips
About why I can't be like them all

It is my right, as the tiniest of me
Has been created not by me
But, by some power which bid it be so
And living according to my own tunes
Is that which allows my harmony to
Thrive into a symphony!

My choices are set upon my voice
Being female allows me to dream for myself
Having abilities to sculpt the world
Through powerful words enounced through fragility
Makes of me ruler of my own life,
Aware and conscious of where my path takes me
Yet, bold enough to assume the legitimacy of being
My own Queen!
