My Life

Auburn hair and freckles, but such a sickly child
Cossetted and nurtured, no permission to be wild
Always painfully shy, with both cheeks blushing red
Unable to blossom, she went inwards instead
A grown up who struggled with confidence and living
To strive in a world that was so unforgiving
She met a good man with confidence for two
And slowly her spirit began to shine through
Now widowed and alone her greatest challenge yet, she knew…
