My Life

As the years of life catch up with me
I see the things I use to be. I see the child
I once was, I feel my parents and their love.
I see my teenage years; I was so strong
that days went fast, and time went on.

I see the people I used to know; we had fun and
were always on the go. As a young man
I went to the military. I just missed the moment
I could have been buried. My work life
was so much fun; I did what I did and got
a lot done.

The girls in my life were not very many. The
hunt for love didn't find any. Romance and
love is one of the best things to find. it calms
your heart with the heartbeats of time.
Especially when you find the one, it turns to
love with a lot of fun.

Today, all that has been left behind; what is left
are those impressions on my mind. It's almost
like it never happened; that's the thing that keeps
me laughing. Today, I have a pen in my hand,
thinking about my next goal or plan.

I'm still alive, wondering what's next. It is something,
but I don't know yet. You don't finish with life
until life is finished with you. I'm so glad the sun
still shines and most skies are blue. Most of all,
there's one thing I can't hide: I'm so happy I'm still
alive!
