My Leaves

Crops rippling in the breeze, and a majestic oak -
my leaves of yesterday -
great leaves.

My leaves continued with blue sky,
and a dove I had never seen before,
not I.

And then towards the day's far end
came a red sunset,
leaving me with quiet of night, and joy.
