My Last Prayer
Life seems ending, I’m wedged in snow
Chilled to the bone, no place to go
A call to thee, to answer my prayer
I’m so cold, losing ground with despair.
Please take my soul, I bow unto you
Few breaths ending, am lacking my view.
Please have mercy; I am weak and numb
My efforts are futile, I cannot overcome.
Time is nearing, I’ll turn to stone
Please lift me; don’t want to be alone.
I know you’re here, I sense a lifting
My fears are lessening, spirits now shifting.
Alone I am not, but you I cannot see
Take me with you, hereafter for eternity.
Life flashes by, desperate wishes ascending
wish for Eden, where tranquility is never-ending.
Vitalize my arctic flesh, please restore my sight
Release my darkest hour, admit the finest light
Fulfill me with gladness, gracious divine powers
To rest in fragrant flowers, heavenly endless hours.
