My Journey Begins
As the sky of a winters past breaks,
The pink hues of a spring morning come to sight.
The happiness in me begins to wake,
I’m overcome by the light.
Looking behind, I’ve caused too much pain.
The destructive forces inside my head free to roam.
I lost my mind, I’ve barely kept sane.
But now it’s up to me to find my way home.
The friendships I’ve kept,
And the lover I’ve known,
They’ve silently wept,
For this journey’s my own.
They cheer me forward, so encouraging.
Leaving behind the wreckage I’ve caused.
Even when sorrow becomes most discouraging,
Their support never once paused.
It’s taken me so long to find my feet,
To take a stand with a grace of determine.
I will no longer accept a defeat,
Misery now only a parasite a mere vermin.
It will take some time for my mind of old,
To take its grasp and strengthen its hold.
But I promise you, I will find my way,
Back to friends and a love of youth.
No matter what I face in the coming day,
I will find happiness, peace and truth.
So keep holding on, just a little bit longer,
I swear to you my beloved, my happy soul.
Every day I’m becoming a little bit stronger,
Every day I’m becoming a little bit more hole.
