My Irresponsibility On the 4th of July

I'm in the hospital because of what happened on the 4th of July.
I was very irresponsible with fireworks and I'm lucky I didn't die.
When I lit a bottlerocket, it flew up my nose.
But that wasn't as bad as losing all of my fingers and toes.
I held five M-80s in each hand and put five on both of my feet.
When they exploded, I thought God was somebody who I'd meet.
I didn't argue when my best friend decided to rush me to the ER.
He's threatening to sue because my blood ruined the interior of his car.
When I got to the hospital, the doctors and nurses laughed
They said they couldn't believe that a man could be so daft.
Now I'm lying in a hospital bed and I have no toes, fingers or thumbs.
If you ever use fireworks, don't do what I did because it was very dumb.

(This is a fictional poem but being irresponsible with fireworks really is dangerous.)
