My Inferno

Waves of heat splash my face:
Dripping to my chest, my heart burns.
My skin begins to melt
And my hair lights.
My eyes blacken while my lungs fill with ash.
Blood evaporates and nerves spark.
My brain bubbles and expands,
Exploding against my skull.
Muscle and bone, I am myself again.
