My Home Outdoors

I step outside to gaze up at the sky
Day by day different clouds float by
Some puffy, some wispy, others gray or white
Some set with the sun at dusk
Others stay out the whole summer night

On my block, a remarkable variety of trees
Maples, oaks, elms, evergreens my eye sees
Some older, some younger, others sturdy or frail
Each one with a story, with his very own tale.

Beneath me are grasses, herbs, weeds, vegetation
Creepy crawly bugs and insects, marvels of creation
Indoors may well be a kingly palace of comfort and ease
My home is outdoors, midst fresh air's gentle breeze

Hello Gershon … under these circumstances it is a when we can observe nature and try to understand that everything on our planet has a reason to be here. All we need to do is to take this down time to admire it - thank you Gershon - Lindsay

So you are stuck inside... I am fortunate to have a small yard with roses to care for and they are not aware of the virus, they are blooming like crazy. I love how you have included the trees and tiny creatures that thrive outside Gershon. We will never gather in a crowd again without appreciating it after this virus passes. Your poem is like a breath of fresh air! I loved it! Have a great week. Stay safe. xxoo

Have to forego outside for inside these days; makes me 'outside-in,' I guess. LOL. Happy Monday, Tom. :) gw

You know I am such a nature lover that this appeals to me in every kind of way; I feel I am enjoying the same outdoors that you are my friend, and it is marvelous!
