My Heroin

My boy, My best friend, The one who’s always There… My heroin. You were there for me When I was sad, When I needed a shoulder To lean on. We were the best of friends, No one could tear us apart. Boy, we had our ups And we had our downs, But no matter what, we Were always there for each other. Every time your pinch touched My skin, your pessimist, the Adrenalin racing through my veins Like a hurricain ripping through my body. Once more I lay down Beside you, staring across to See that evil look you give me When you know something Bad will happen. Once again, nothing tore us Apart. I am your victim… You... are my heroin.

About your comment, that is such a coincidence. The person that this poem reminds me of did actually go through very heavy rehab, but is now coming back at long last -- after 2.5 years of not seeing her. By the way, do you have an email where we can discuss some of this? I'd love to hear more about your poetry and takes on it.

I think this is a great poem, I know exactly what you feel in this. I'm sure many people can relate to it, and I can certainly find a connection to this with someone I have in my life. Keep it up!
