My Heartbeats Miss Yours
My heartbeats miss yours
in between their pauses,
as if waiting for a perfect cadence
that only you and me can create.
The purest of eyes that you have,
make me want to kiss away your tears
every time they fall,
and when sorrows linger in your smiles,
I yearn to dip them in shades of pink
and ethereal ecstasy.
I believe now,
your fingers interlaced with mine would fill
all the empty spaces in me completely.
Your arms wrapped around me
like bougainvillea vines
would bring me my sweetest of bloom.
Your warm whispers brushing my hair
can hush all the lullabies
for all of the cold nights to come.
Like flowers forgotten in between pages of old books,
I am sure you will make my soul fragrant
as you, my sweet beloved.
The power you possess over my heart
leaves my senses senseless,
there is no other soul
who could touch this colorless canvas,
and make a masterpiece like you did.
