My Heart Won't Let Go Of That Dream

With your love came the hope of a dream
That we shared through some joy and some pain.
Though we knew our love could not stay ---
I still have a dream from yesterday.

For so long we tried to pretend
Our love would go on and never end.
All too soon we found love could not stay ---
And my heart cried out as you walked away.

But my heart won’t let go of that dream ---
No matter how hard it may seem.
Though I knew I’d have to let you go,
My heart just won’t let go of that dream.

(Instrumental Break)

Now you say we can only be friends ---
And you tell me this heartbreak will mend.
Now I find life is not what it seems
As I try to turn loose of a dream.

But my heart won’t let go of that dream ---
No matter how hard it may seem.
Though I knew I’d have to let you go,
My heart just won’t let go of that dream.
