My Heart She Slumbers
As I sit relaxing this A.M,
I'm pondering gently where my heart's been.
I feel a surging within my soul,
As cold.silver turns to warmthened gold.
My heart she is sleeping,
And in her rest she rhythmically breathes.
I close my eyes and continue to See,
The answer to my wishes is lying next to me.
With each moment her skin beckons,
Urging me closer, my silent fire begins.
This ember we so nurturing fostered,
Has grown in proportion so great.
And in her sleep my heart she slumbers,
My hand rests against her warm skin...I wait.
Not wanting to disturb her peaceful mind,
Her breathing becomes my lullaby.
Forever the fingers of our sleeping hands intertwined.
