I wish I knew the perfect words
to reach into your heart.
I wish I knew the perfect ways
to bring the joy you so deserve.
I wish that everything fell smoothly.
Life has taken its toll.
I wish I could maintain
the perfect distance you so desire.
I wish that I could be everything
you look for when you look at me.
I wish that I could read your needs
so every day feels like a new blessing.
My heart knows only how to love.
