My Heart Is Full
Your feelings surface, and tears
spill from your eyes as you speak.
You say you've loved me for years,
wiping the drops from your cheek.
Your wrenching words sound so sad,
layered with emotion and hope.
My virtuous Galahad,
I sense you're struggling to cope.
Tears cannot quench desire's thirst
pooling in your tortured soul.
And you fear your heart may burst,
when silence levies its toll.
Though we're closely connected,
we are also worlds apart.
Your love went unsuspected,
for we were friends from the start.
I feel the tug of your hurt,
giving my heartstrings a pull.
But it's wrong of you to flirt,
for you know my heart is full.
I'm in love with your brother,
there's no question in my heart.
I love him like no other
and cannot call you sweetheart.
