Notes About The Poem

My Heart Gets a Call

My Heart Gets A Call

Sometimes, when troubles find me
even now that I am grown.
I slip off somewhere by myself.
I need to be alone.

Sometimes my restless spirit
is just in need of sleep.
Still there are some other times
when my soul starts to weep.

It's not for my self pity
often not for me at all.
Sometimes sadness in the wind
just gives my heart a call.

I'll stand among the shadows
or look up at the sky.
Think of all the broken hearts
then I'll start to cry.

It may not help the world go round
it may not help at all.
It's just what I got to do
when my heart get's a call.

Soon I find my smile again
in spite of unforgotten pain.
Then my soul starts dancing.
Dancing in the rain.
