My Heart Forgot

many years have passed
since I told you
I wanted the moon
since you promised
you would give it
perhaps you were
busy with other things
maybe jumping
from saturn to neptune
or riding the milky way
now you kneel before me
offering your hands
full of moondust
but it seems as though
my heart forgot
as if my love is
sick with alzheimers
