My Heart Does Sing

Colorful kites and blue skies in summer
Humming birds perched on my back gate a’ singing
Roses and tulips that bloom in the spring
These are all some things that make my heart sing

Music and movies and poetry delight me
Dancing, romancing and sharing Jack Daniels
Lighting a fire on those cool autumn nights
These are all some things that make my life bright

Babies and children, and Golden Retrievers
Baking and sharing at my casual dinners
Watching the sun set down at the shore
These are all some things that make my heart soar  

When I feel bad
When I’m happy
When I’m feeling loved
I reach out to one of my favorite things
I’m dancing and singing and bringing some joy
And my heart does sing
