My Heart Beats

My heart beats
To the rhythm that you speak
Hanging on each phrase
My hope rides
On your syllable's tide
And the things you choose to say

My chest fills
And for a moment all is still
When my name is on your lips
My heart gives way
To the song that you make
With the sweet words that you let slip

I am undone
Unraveled and un-spun
As I realize that I've
Never felt this deep
Or felt so much at ease
Or been this much alive
