My Heart-
The great Powerhouse that stores up blood,
thumping incessantly in rising rhythm
The most vital organ in me.
The great fulcrum that works day and night
It being fragile with delicate tissues, incarcerated,
in the strong fortress of sternum and ribs.
It keeps working all through, sans rest.
If it goes on strike, our life will come to a stop.
It is a magic casket. It keeps beating-
lub-dub, lub-dub, sure, to my ears
Such a sweet music.

Congratulatons Valsa on your high placement in this contest with a lovely poem on the sweet music of the heart "incarcerated, in the strong fortress of sternum and ribs" in a superb (concrete) form, with beautiful imagery. Wishing you a blessed forthcoming week-end.

Ahh it's so nice when I see it written out below. Too bad that phones destroy how our poems are meant to look. I especially liked the sweet ending to this 🌸

Your fantastic poem creatively explores the significance of the heart, likening it to a powerhouse and a magic casket. The vivid imagery and metaphorical language effectively convey the heart's essential role. However, the prose is brimming with traditional poetic elements like rhythm or rhyme, which enhance the overall reading experience. Nevertheless, the theme is perfectly and clearly expressed and engaging.
