My Greatest Pleasure

My Greatest Pleasure By Rick Rucker By now, it surely must seem trite, But my favorite time, ever, was last night! That we set up a dinner date, To save us from our solitary fate! You make me feel so calm, For my Heart, you are a balm! We met for a lovely dinner, Asian, Just to see each other, the occasion. After dinner, we talked quite late, To forestall the goodbye, that I so hate! As we both had to do things today, We could, no longer, stay, As I watched you drive away, My mind conjured up the day, That we would no longer grieve, As we won’t have to leave, From each other’s side, No more forced to take that lonely ride. Since that wonderful time we met, I am forever in your debt, For showing me a side of life, With boundless Love, no stress, nor strife! A friend asked me today, how we get along, I told him that I can’t find a thing wrong, He said for me to not tell him, that we never fight, I said that I couldn’t do that, to lie is just not right! I told him you are a treasure, Your Beauty, and Love make the time with you, my greatest pleasure!
