After dinner, we talked quite late, To forestall the goodbye, that I so hate! As we both had to do things today, We could, no longer, stay, As I watched you drive away, My mind conjured up the day, That we would no longer grieve, As we won’t have to leave, From each other’s side, No more forced to take that lonely ride.
