My Grandmother

I kissed her sweetly for the branch that connected us,
But she already said "she was ready"--
We never spoke of it...
Mom cried,
Then she was gone, too

                              6/19/'13

It was surreal almost... I remember the last time we were together it was just before she left. The family was having a get-together, and I went up to her and kissed her on the forehead. I told her "Don't leave us" but she didn't seem to care. It was like I wrote "she was ready..."
