My Grandma

She looks out the window, from her old rocking chair, With wrinkles on her face and graying hair. Every girl is close to their mother, For me that special person is my grandmother. This poem is dedicated to my grandma whose bond I share, For everything she has done for me with love and care. She was the one who taught me how to walk, She also helped me in learning how to talk. She was there to catch me during my first fall, And was always present at my beck and call. She was there to wipe away all my tears, She gave me the strength to face all my fears. Her soothing words calmed me when I was ill, She waited for me to come back from school, on her windowsill. She has done so much, yet she keeps giving more, Endless are the things that I want to thank her for. A grandmother's love is hard to explain, It's full of endless joy, sacrifice and pain. She showers me with all her love, hugs and kisses, When she's alone, I'm the one she misses. When I leave home, she blesses me placing her hand on my head, And to her, I reluctantly say goodbye with a heart of lead.
