MY GOD, THANK YOU FOR TRYING MY HEART Thank You for trying my heart for character-development Making me submissive toward Your commandment While You uphold me in my commitment As I do my part for Your kingdom’s advancement. Thank You for trying my heart for faith-strengthening Making me steadfast with Your refining While You protect me against sinning As I shine by Your light’s brightening. Thank You for trying my heart for soul-compassion Making me concerned for others’ salvation While You motivate me in Your redemption’s jubilation As I trust Your authority’s direction. Thank You for trying my heart for spirit-revival Making me fervent with Your fire’s upheaval While You warm me around Your fellowship’s festival As I wait for Your grand arrival. Thank You for trying my heart for mind-humility Making me submissive toward Your commandment While You uphold my faith’s commitment As I do my part for Your kingdom-advancement. Thank You for trying my heart for service-fruitfulness Making me joyful to reap labour-harvests’ bountifulness While You encourage me for diligent purposefulness As I continue in Your goodness’ willingness.
