My God, Thank You For Pitying Me
May 25 Scripture Meditations Based on Psalms 102-104
Key Verse – Psalm 103:13 Like as a father pitieth his children, so the LORD pitieth them that fear him.
MY GOD, THANK YOU FOR PITYING ME
Thank You for pitying me, Your dear child
You’re my Father Who loves me despite my being worldly wild…
I cherish Your care, gentle and mild
Always keeping me from becoming defiled.
Thank You for pitying me, Your ordained steward
You’re my Creator Who molds me to go through faith-maturity upward…
I trust Your guidance as I march forward
Always propelling me so I will never turn backward.
Thank You for pitying me, Your chosen servant
You’re my Master Who prods me against becoming stagnant…
I obey Your commandments though sometime my flesh doesn’t want
Always driving me toward labor-sacrifice in Your service that’s never vacant.
Thank You for pitying me, Your called follower
You’re my Leader Who guides me with Your power…
I follow Your guidance in marching forward
Always propelling me so I will never turn backward.
Thank You for pitying me, Your enlightened student
You’re my Teacher Who makes me prudent…
I seek Your precepts, sovereignly provident
Always directing me to Your truth that’s divinely ardent.
Thank You for pitying me, Your called ambassador
You’re my Ruler Who sends me for soulwinning outdoor…
I bow to Your authority with humility’s candor
Always controlling me despite my humanistic ardor.
