My God, Thank You For Enabling Me To Come After You

September 20 Scripture Meditations Based on Mark 1-3

Key Verse– Mark 1:17 And Jesus said unto them, Come ye after me, and I will make you to become fishers of men.

MY GOD, THANK YOU FOR ENABLING ME TO COME AFTER YOU Thank You for enabling me to come after You despite my sinfulness… So gracious is Your welcoming goodness Beyond transgressions’ awfulness For me to respond with worshipfulness. Thank You for enabling me to come after You despite my misbehaviour… So merciful is Your transforming endeavour Beyond stubbornness’ fervour awfulness For me to surrender with submission to the Saviour. Thank You for enabling me to come after You despite my hesitation… So forceful is Your encouraging permission Beyond inability’s reaction For me to follow with determination. Thank You for enabling me to come after You despite my inconsistency… So ready is Your accommodating clemency Beyond work-ethics’ complacency For me to serve with persistency. Thank You for enabling me to come after You despite my fright… So effective is Your empowering might Beyond cowardice’s sight For me to obey with courage-fight. Thank You for enabling me to come after You despite my timidity… So available is Your guiding authority Beyond weakness’ tenacity For me to stand with humility. Thank You for enabling me to come after You despite my downfall… So gentle is Your inviting call Beyond frustrations’ gall For me to continue with victory along faith’s hall.
