My God, Thank You For Causing Me To Approach You

MY GOD, THANK YOU FOR CAUSING ME TO APPROACH YOU
Thank You for causing me to approach You with humility
To beg for Your power midst weakness-frailty
Against pride and selfishness’ vanity
By Your subduing might’s certainty.
Thank You for causing me to approach You with devotion
To praise Your name midst worship-jubilation
Against boredom and weariness’ dysfunction
By Your loving kindness’ inspiration.
Thank You for causing me to approach You with faithfulness
To see Your glory midst majesty-brightness
Against transgression and iniquity’s filthiness
By Your pardoning mercy’s forgiveness.
Thank You for causing me to approach You with confidence
To seek Your presence midst worldliness-turbulence
Against unbelief and doubtfulness’ insolence
By Your controlling sovereignty’s prevalence.
Thank You for causing me to approach You with delight
To enjoy Your fellowship midst supplication-plight
Against carnality and lustfulness’ blight
By Your reviving warmth’s light.
Thank You for causing me to approach You with gratitude
To exalt Your name midst magnification-magnitude
Against discontentment and bitterness’ attitude
By Your transforming work’s fortitude.
