My God, Thank You For Being My Way

Key Verse – John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
MY GOD, THANK YOU FOR BEING MY WAY
Thank You for being my way toward Your heart
Away from hatred and wickedness’ dart
So that I can love by Your compassion only You can impart
Against worldly friendship of pleasurable start.
Thank You for being my way toward Your Word
Away from foolishness and falsity’s sword
So that I can learn through Your truthful record
Against unwise decisions of ignorant board.
Thank You for being my way toward Your heaven
Away from condemnation and hell-fire’s oven
So that I can enjoy Your salvation haven
Against detrimental idolatry of self-righteous leaven.
Thank You for being my way toward Your bliss
Away from discontentment and jealousy’s hiss
So that I can delight in Your fellowship I must not miss
Against miserable backsliding of deceitful kiss.
Thank You for being my way toward Your security
Away from fright and hardship’s cruelty
So that I can seek Your protective stability
Against fretful doubts of spiritual poverty.
Thank You for being my way toward Your presence
Away from assurance and peacefulness’ pretense
So that I can abide in Your holiness-prevalence
Against boastful selfishness of vain prominence.
Thank You for being my way toward Your revival-flame
Away from transgressions and guilt’s shame
So that I can glorify Your name which by faith I claim
Against personal ambition of temporal fame.
