January 6 Scripture Meditations Based on Genesis 15-17
Key Verse - Genesis 15:1 After these things the word of the LORD came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward.
MY GOD, THANK YOU FOR BEING MY SHIELD
You’re my shield, and my exceeding great Reward
Always protecting me from fear’s destruction in my march heavenly forward
Letting me believe in You with Your righteousness-award
For me to bear fruit as Your called steward.
You’re my shield, and my gracious inheritance Source
Always guarding me from every evil force
Letting me prevail over horrors of sin-darkness’ course
For me to serve You midst inviting worldliness of destruction exit doors.
You’re my shield, and my merciful Pardoner for my sanctification
Always defending me from iniquity’s affliction
Letting me separate from filthiness’ abomination
For me to enjoy Your peace and goodness’ satisfaction.
You’re my shield, and my gentle Restrainer against vanity-indulgence
Always covering me from time-wasting habit-resurgence
Letting me multiply my labour-yield of spiritual diligence
For me to please You with whole-hearted obedience.
You’re my shield, and my loving prayer-Hearer
Always surrounding me with Your assurance-answer
Letting me dwell in Your presence forever
For me to abide in Your comfort, being Your care-seeker.
You’re my shield, and my wise Seer with Your sovereign appearance
Always enclosing me against false teachings’ ignorance
Letting me grow in faith’s certainty upon Your truth-assurance
For me to walk before You safely along Your deliverance.
You’re my shield, and my kind Father Who blesses me exceedingly
Always establishing me in Your eternal covenant steadfastly
Letting me live in Your will joyously
For me to experience Your power mightily.
