My Girlfriend's Metaphor
Her life is a whirligig,
A whirling, twirling spinning top,
Veering here, veering there,
Never going to stop,
And sometimes she pirouettes,
Floating on the floor,
Elegant and perfect in every way,
Always wanting more,
Humming a tune of soft,
Her black and white dress splays out,
While other times she’s anarchy with wings,
Hanging off a cloud,
Either way, even though she looks like chaos,
She’s all I want to see,
She’s a swirling, twirling, whirling top,
Of honest and happy and free.
