My Girl
The dragon rears its head,
I remember these teeth
I remember this breath
this sulfur.
In the teeth I recall,
The last time I faced this
I kissed you gently on the head
And said I would miss you.
I saw you there,
in those feverish dreams as I
wrapped the moth-worn linen
and tried to sleep on the stones.
