My Gift

In the days of thunder and lightening
         She was my gift
Taken by a force worse then death
         My gift was taken
For years my midnight cry unanswered
         Missing from my life
She is mine though she is gone
         In my heart she is
Tragedy in her life has left her alone
         Look for I am here
She need not be alone I am here waiting
Tears will lead you to me
Open your heart and forget the lies
          You will find the truth
The part of me that is in your heart
           Will direct you to me
Fear not for I am your father
           I love you
         Daughter lost

I am not a pro on any form of poetry but...I know when I read a poem if I have enjoyed it. Now I have read yours and I have indeed enjoyed it Edmond. I wish you a wonderful weekend and hope you find much inspiration to continue with your writing endeavors. Love, Carol
