My Generation

Gonna leave a mess
My generation is
planning on destruction
teenagers planning motherhood
9 year olds knowing
about proper gun control

Smart kids slipping off
the honor roll for some weed
parent's working 24/7
isn't helping kids succeed
Sex isn't sacred anymore
All morals are going out the door

Diseases are spreading
hurricanes are recking
people are losing hope
marriage isn't anyone's
future goal.

You see my generation is just
the pus that leaked from
a dirty wound.
12 year olds contemplating suicide
when they haven't even seen how
good life can be or could be

Sometimes I don't blame them for
their dark thoughts
everyday I wake up and
see this world and it
makes me want go back to sleep.
My generation is drowning.
